The 10 Best Films To Watch During The Christmas Break

Hey Lovelies!

Well the festive season is drawing to a close – but there’s still time to get in a few more awesome classic films during the Christmas break. All of the following films are a must-watch, and although I must have seen them 100 times, they NEVER get old.

1.Heat (1995)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

This film is one of my all-time faves and with a cast comprising of Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer and Al Pacino, the movie will never go out of style. One question – why, oh why did the baddies not get away (apart from Val of course)?

2.The Usual Suspects (1995)

Credit: WIkipedia.org

Excuse the low-res image. Another classic, this very clever film will keep you guessing right until the end. Furthermore, you notice more clues each time you watch it.

3.War of the Worlds (2005)

Credit: Amazon

Love this sci-fi film which was originally a sci-fi novel by H.G. Wells – and if aliens were to invade, this is probably the way it would go. Also, Tom Cruise never seems to age! What’s that all about? What can I say, other than this is an awesome film everyone should see?

4.Oblivion (2013)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

Are we an effective team? No, we are no longer an effective team. Brilliant.

5.The Bourne Identity (2002)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

Matt Damon, oh Matt, how I love you. Why don’t I have a Matt Damon (this version) in my life? After seeing is, I sadly go back to realising life is crap.

6.Deadpool (2016)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

Probably the funniest film ever. Ryan Reynolds couldn’t have played this part better. I know everyone raves about Deadpool 2, but in my eyes, it is more of the same. However, the first one was so funny, it would be impossible for the second to be a flop. N.B: A good idea to wait until after the kids are asleep to watch this one.

7.Forest Gump (1994)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

I used to adore Tom Hanks – he was an incredible actor. This tear-jerker gets me every time I see it.

8.The Green Mile (1999)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

I hadn’t seen this film in years and then it was on the TV the other day and immediately drew me in. Warning: prepare for extreme heart-rendering tears.

9.Oceans 11 (The Original, 2001)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

All of my favourite actors doing what they do best – when I watch this I am literally in heaven. Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Andy Garcia – what more could a girl ask for? Apart from to do another – with the same damn cast! Grrr.

10.Ps I Love You (2007)

Credit: Wikipedia.org

This romance film is my favourite but I am left crying for days afterwards. Don’t watch this unless you have a mountain of comfort foods to the ready.

Discover The Best Makeup Setting Sprays Of 2018

Hey Lovelies!

Today I’m sharing with you the best makeup setting sprays.

The festive season is in full swing and you’ve got back-to-back parties for the foreseeable, which means Instagram and social media are about to be flooded with pics. So, you want to look A-mazing? This year, it would be great to avoid any dodgy-looking pics taken just a few hours into the event, in which liner seems to have gone for a swim underneath your eyes (taking the smudged look to a whole new level) and any foundation has slipped from your face like you’ve been standing in a melting pot. Not a good look! This party season, we want serious staying power – but we don’t have to resort to the spray on plaster in the bathroom cabinet. Here are the best setting sprays that are incredible at ensuring your makeup remains flawless all evening.

1.E.L.F. Matte Magic Mist & Set, £5, www.elfcosmetics.co.uk

Credit: elf cosmetics.co.uk

As a huge fan of E.L.F. Cosmetics foundation and primer, I couldn’t wait to give their Magic Mist Setting Spray a try – it did not disappoint. Makeup acquires a gorgeous matte finish and stays firmly in place for a good 8 hours – which is unbelievable for me given that makeup seems to just evaporate to the point where it looks like I hadn’t even bothered applying any to begin with. Major result!

2.Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist, £17, www.debenhams.com

Kat von d setting mist
Credit: Debenhams

Being a newbie to Kat Von D products I was keen to try out this setting spray. This works a treat in creating a gorgeous matte finish and (most importantly) locks your makeup to your face like it has some kind of invisible super power. You can party the night away and still take some filter-free pics on your ride home. I love this!

3.NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray, £7. nyxcosmetics.co.uk

NYX setting spray
Credit: nyxcosmetics.co.uk

When I read about the woman who claimed her makeup stayed put (using NYX Setting Spray) throughout the trauma of a car crash, I wasn’t surprised. For me, this setting spray has serious gluing power, provides a beautiful matte finish and instead of nipping to the club toilet and cowering in sheer horror at your ‘Freddie Kruger-like’ reflection (obviously from seeing a face of smeared makeup, not blood), your flawless complexion is, well, actually PERFECT! NYX, I love you!

4.Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray, £24, urbandecay.co.uk

urban decay setting spray
Credit: urban decay.co.uk

When it comes to makeup Urban Decay set their standards to a truly professional level (which is probably why they charge that much more). Urban Decay’s Setting Spray ticks all the boxes (no setting into lines and caking, or fading) and your makeup looks as if you had just applied it -even when you’ve gone from work to a party and then danced your ass off of 3 hours straight! To be fair I haven’t tested it after 16 hours (yet) but the party season has only just begun.

Beauty Editor’s Weekly Favourites

Hey Lovelies!

I hope you’re all having an awesome week.

As a Beauty Editor I come across many, many products (some amazing, some not so much). Below are some of my favourite products discovered thus far:

1.Revitalizing Bio Cellulose Face Mask – Lucia Magnani, £45, www.luciamagnani.com

Lucia_High Res luciamagnani.com

As a big fan of sheet masks, I was so excited to receive the Lucia Magnani sheet mask to try. Incredibly luxurious, bursting with amazing ingredients and the ultimate in skin pampering (without travelling miles and spending a fortune at the nearest spa). This mask is every bit as good as I’d imagined it to be – and then a whole lot more IRL. My complexion was actually transformed, fine lines were noticeably reduced, and my skin felt and looked firmer, smoother and altogether fabulous. This is one mask that will be damn hard to top – everyone should keep one in their makeup cabinet for that special night or for an emergency beauty event. I love, love, love this mask!

2.MAKE UP FOREVER Foundation Face & Body, £31, www.escentual.com

IMG_0646

Until recently I haven’t had much experience of body foundations; since trying this one by Makeup Forever, I am a changed woman (quite literally). If you have missed out on your fake tan appointment, or putting off wearing that slinky dress because the winter has left your skin looking tired and neglected – this is the perfect product to buy. Makeup Forever’s foundation glides on seamlessly creating flawless results. So happy!

3. Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Overnight Hand Therapy, £19, www.crabtree-evelyn.co.uk

Our hands are often forgotten – and given the fact that I am always the one lumbered with the cleaning products and never bothering to put the gloves on (I know – cardinal sin), my hands appear more like something from Gardeners Weekly/Roofers Weekly/Witches Weekly (take your pick), than the flawless fingers of a beauty editor. The other morning, I actually glanced down at hands and sheer horror gripped my face – they actually looked more like my nan’s hands (sorry nan). Time for some serious TLC.

Now there seems to be an end to the cold spell we have no excuse to ignore our weathered hands. This is where Crabtree & Evelyn come in: their La Source Hand Therapy combines an array of amino acids and vitamins that thoroughly transform both the hands and nails, whilst simultaneously providing the utmost protection. what is more, this product smells so good that reapplication each day will definitely be a pleasure and never a chore.

4.Kypris Beauty Elixir 1 Face Oil, £216, www.naturisimo.com

Screenshot 2018-04-04 10.10.29

naturisimo.com

OMG this is the oil of dreams. Made from 1000 roses, the high-end facial oil sadly comes at a high-end price. That said, in my humble opinion it is worth every last penny.  The Elixir works little miracles on your skin by smoothing, evening tone and rejuvenating to reveal a beautifully radiant complexion. Yes, it may be pricey, but a little goes a long way. This is one of those must-have products of which you will never want to run out. To give you an idea, I used my bottle every evening and it lasted for almost a year – until the week whereby I held it upside down without the pipette every day in the vain hope a drop may still be left (I know, a tad sad, but you do what you have to). My advice is if you want to buy an investment facial oil – this should be at the top of the list.

What are your favourite products? Let me know what you think below xx
