Everything You Need To Know About BB And CC Creams

Hey Lovelies!

When it comes to BB and CC creams there seems to be no shortage of choice. These are a great option for those who want to save time on their skincare routine and are looking for slightly less coverage than a foundation. But which to choose? Read on to discover the differences between BB and CC creams and what you should opt for depending on your skin concern.

The Difference Between BB Creams And CC Creams

BB Creams:

BB (or beauty balm) creams are basically tinted moisturisers that contain specific qualities. Some offer blemish protection, some provide primer or anti-aging benefits, and most will offer an SPF. A BB cream generally aids in the prevention of skin concerns and are great for those lazy days.

CC Creams:

CC (or colour correcting) creams add a tad more coverage than a BB creams, making them the go-to choice for more mature skin with certain concerns. Whether the problem is dealing with age spots, redness or wrinkles, a CC cream will help by colour correcting, priming and concealing the issue.

Which Should You Choose?

1.For Aging Skin Use A CC Cream. Try: Thrive Causmetics Buildable Blur CC Cream, $38, www.thrivecausmetics.com

Although there are a few BB creams that support aging skin, should you have noticeable and significant imperfections you wish to conceal, a CC cream is the better option. Mature skin types that have hyperpigmentation or sallow skin will benefit from CC creams that contain antioxidants as well as vitamins C and E. Thrive’s multitasking formula successfully blurs (with their Blur Effect Technology), whilst the colour correcting micro-pigments and vitamin C offer optimal hydration and buildable colour correction. Say goodbye to unsightly pores and unwanted signs of aging. Better yet, it comes in 18 shades and has an SPF35.

Another fantastic product is IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF50, £31, www.itcosmetics.co.uk

3.For Skin With Existing Blemishes Try CC Creams. Opt for: by Terry Cellularose Moisturising CC Cream, £44.35, www.amazon.co.uk

CC creams offer slightly more coverage, so if you already have blemishes, this would be the preferable cream to choose. By Terry offers an all-singing, all-dancing formula, specifically created to conceal any imperfections, as well as discolouration and redness. Brimming with hydrating qualities and vitamin E for protection, this is a true hero CC cream.

4.For Luminosity Choose: BB Cream. Try MAC Prep + Prime Beauty Balm SPF35, £25, www.lookfantastic.com

Hair Primers Guaranteed To Defy The Strongest Of Heatwaves

Hey Lovelies!

I hope you are all enjoying the continuing miracle that is this UK heatwave. Whilst the majority of us are slapping on extra primer in an effort to prevent our makeup melting down our faces (causing us to look like a waxwork reject), many of us still are not applying hair primer. In this weather we really need the hair primer.

The beauty Gods have bestowed upon us hair primers of which can treat a whole array of haircare needs. Primers thoroughly condition, hydrate and protect – ensuring your locks remain shiny and super soft whilst enjoying SAS-like protection against these extreme (but much-loved) sun rays. Say goodbye to dehydrated, frizzy and sun-damaged strands and hellloooo to gorgeousness. Check out the best:

 1.Bumble & Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil Primer, £21 (250ml), Bumble & Bumble

                Bumble & Bumble

Should you shudder at how suspiciously familiar a scarecrow’s straw hair looks, worry no more. Bumble & Bumble have your hair covered (in a rehydrating oil) so no more brittle, just beauty. Better yet, this ‘invisible’ spray is practically undetectable and ensures your locks are detangled, silky and effectively protected from UV damage. This product enables fast and easy styling, too.  #hairgoals!

2.L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Original Oil, £12.75 (100ml), look fantastic.com

There’s one thing we hate about the sun and that is it makes already frizz-prone hair that much worse. Put an end to those frizzy woes by applying a little L’Oréal, and you will be rocking a super-soft shine all day long. This incredible oil also heat protects for up to 230 degrees!

(suitable for all hair types)

 3.Kerastase Resistance Therapiste Serum, £22.90 (30ml), kerastase.co.uk
