4 Of The Best Concealers That Actually Deliver

Hey Lovelies!

I don’t know about you but I’m so tired of getting excited about trying new concealers only to discover they just don’t stand up to the job. We want concealers to do what they promise – conceal. We want concealers that make our skin look better – not cakey, older or patchy (even when we’ve spent more than long enough blending). I quite like some Rimmel products, but I found their “Hide The Blemish” concealer to be a huge fail.

Check out the best concealers around (and the best prices) that actually deliver true coverage and will improve your appearance!

1.Max Factor Pan Stik, £7.18, www.amazon.co.uk

This has to be one of my all-time favourite concealers. It instantly provides superior, yet natural coverage for pretty much every skin concern. The lightweight formula blends easily and lasts as long as your foundation (unlike the useless twist pen stick concealers), it is excellent value for money. I always come back to this concealer (for good reason). #happydays.

2.Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer, £20.40 (Was £24), www.debenhams.com

Nars is an awesome brand and their Soft Matte Concealer offers exceptional results. Achieving a natural yet full coverage, this product is lightweight and blends seamlessly. Whether you need to cover up dark circles (who doesn’t?), acne, blemishes, pigmentation or redness – the concealer will be like a complexion’s super hero. With its light-diffusing capabilities to blur and combining an array of proven skin-nourishing ingredients, this formula ensures your complexion will be nothing short of radiant. Furthermore, it is available in almost every shade you can think of.

3.Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, £9.75 (RRP £19.50), www.feelunique.com

This is another concealer that ticks all the boxes. The Naked Skin Concealer provides coverage that is easily buildable, whilst guaranteeing a full and even coverage of which glides on seamlessly. Including incredible ingredients such as Japanese green tea (to diminish the appearance of lines), Matrixyl 3000 and Litchiderm (to enhance collagen production and protect), this concealer literally transforms the look of your skin. Yay!

4.MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, £18.50 (9ml), www.maccosmetics.co.uk

You didn’t think I could discuss great makeup without mentioning MAC, did you? Of course not. I hate concealers that (even when you use a setting spray) seem to either disappear completely, or stubbornly remain in unattractive vague patches on your face. Behold MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer. The lightweight product feels amazing, is lightweight whilst simultaneously achieving excellent coverage and has serious staying power. I love this!

If like me, you suffer from dark spots, imperfections and redness, the SOS Primer will feel like a God Send. Packed with antioxidants to nurture and protect the skin, whilst providing targeted colour corrector to effectively deal with any skin concern, this SOS Primer is a must-have. The only problem is, should you need a colour corrector for more than one concern type, you may need more than one shade. There are 6 incredible shades available – bye, bye, wages!

3.Kiehls Powerful Strength-Line Reducing Concentrate, £49.50 (50ml), www.kiehls.co.uk

Amazing beauty brand Kiehls just gave one of their key serums a makeover. I didn’t think it could get much better, but the Concentrate is now packed with even more essential anti-aging and hydrating vitamin C and hyaluronic acid – 12.5% to be exact. Take that you pesky fine lines.

I am a huge fan of Nars products and given the fact that this foundation promises to stay put for up to 16 hours, and given the other fact that I ALWAYS have to reapply my product at least once during the day, I couldn’t wait to try. The new Nars Foundation is available in 33 shades and glides on to the skin with remarkable flawless results. I have fair skin so love this product in Oslo. The outcome is amazing looking skin that still looks like skin – and it lasts!

6.Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF40, £22.95, www.amazon.co.uk

I know I go on about this A LOT, but sunscreen is probably THE most important cream you should be applying to your skin. As it turns out we should be worrying about the infrared radiation and light from our tablets and phones as well as UVA and UVB rays. Yay! Thankfully, this new product will provide you with all the protection you need and better yet, it soaks in seamlessly and feels practically weightless, too.

7.Wunder2 Super-Stay Liquid Liner, £12.95, www.wunder2.co.ukMetallic White Gold Super-Stay Liner

Credit: Wunder2.co.uk

It’s not just fondations that need reapplication – eyeliners, too, suffer the same fate. That’s where iconic brand Wunder2 comes in – their newly launched Super-Stay liners glide on effortlessly to enable precise application, thus creating a highly pigmented pop of beautiful colour that actually stays put! Available in 3 waterproof collections (Essential, Glitter and Metallic) these 24hour wear liners ensure you don’t need to check the mirror – even if you stay out all night! Buy here

Eye Glitter That Actually Stays Put

Glitter remains a massive trend and now the festive season is well and truly upon us, a glitter product in our makeup bag is an absolute must. However, wearing glitter ought to come with a warning – it’s pretty difficult to apply without getting it everywhere and too much – well, we know how that goes. Here are my favourite glitter products to ensure you look sparkling perfection, in no time at all and with minimum mess.

1.Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner, £15, Urban Decay

Ok, if you are a newcomer to the shimmer and require an easy-to-use glitter taster, this product is just the kitty. Offering absolute precision when applying, the glitter will quickly dry, thus preventing any excess from spreading elsewhere. Furthermore, it features carrot, cucumber and peach extract to ensure optimal conditioning and smoothing results. Metallics are big news right now, making the Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner a must-have item. For extra pizazz why not add a little over the upper lids, too?

2.Nyx Professional Makeup #Glittergoals Kit, £15, nyxcosmetics.co.uk

Credit: Nyx Cosmetics

Nyx never ceases to please, and upon discovering this awesome #Glittergoals Kit, I am officially in love with this brand! This little gem of a kit will keep you looking like sparkling sensation. Better yet, this wonder kit combines 3 shades of Face & Body glitter and a travel-sized tube of vitamin E Glitter Primer that ensures your glitter is completely set and stays put all night. The Kit 3 includes: new shades Pink, Purple and Luna.

3.Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Diamond Dust, £23, stila.co.uk

I know, I know – another glitter metallic product – but you can’t have too many, right? This gorgeous find is a liquid glitter metallic eyeshadow and it seriously kicks ass. Including a flat applicator makes the application of this liquid eyeshadow a total breeze. The lightweight eyeshadow offers seamless results and with minimal drying time or any fallout. Yay!

This shadow is also available in Diamond Dust, Sheer Silver and Multicolour.

4.Nars Cosmetics Iskander Eye Paint, £18.50 narscosmetics.com

Create a super-easy, yet high-impact finish with the incredible Nars Eye Paint. Testing this paint was a total pleasure – the gel is rich, super-soft and weightless, enabling a fast and smooth application, of which dries so quickly that every last shimmery particle will last until you are ready to go to bed.

A word of warning – although the night undoubtedly will be fun and upon returning home the last thing you will want to do is start removing your makeup – make the effort to do so, or you will be spotting glitter and cursing yourself for days to come.

What are your fave Christmas makeup products? xx
